Nyamongo takes over at Nairobi Hospital despite a pending court order
James Nyamongo – CEO – Nairobi Hospital

The newly selected Nairobi Hospital CEO James Nyamongo assumed office today at 5 AM in the morning despite a pending court order by the sacked CEO Allan Pamba which blocked a new CEO from assuming office until his case is heard and determined.

KB has learnt that the senior management team had the new CEO was introduced to them by the board and the workers instructed to accord him all the necessary support and cooperation.

The top health facility has witnessed leadership wrangles emanating from tender wars since the exit of Gordon Odundo who had initiated various measures and development projects without giving board members kick backs.

The trustees running the institution are said to be angling themselves and firms associated with them to benefit from lucrative tenders.

Nyamongo who boasts of the shortest stints at National Oil Corporation of Kenya is joining Nairobi Hospital’s leadership role with a section of the divided board members saying they were not aware of his appointment.

The hospital recently partnered with United Nations (UN) Office in Nairobi to set up a 160-bed Covid-19 treatment facility that embroiled its leadership in management wars over kicks backs from awarded tenders.

Dr Allan Pamba who took over from Gordon Odundo was sacked after board members engaged in war of words over lucrative insurance deals.
