Nzioka Waita Heaps Praise On Ruto, Confirms Machakos Gubernatorial Bid
President Uhuru’s Chief of Staff at State House, Nzioka Waita

State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita has left many surprised this evening when he showered Deputy President William Ruto with praise despite a sour relationship between the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party leader and his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV, Waita paid a glowing tribute to Ruto as well as acknowledged the skills that make him a good leader.

“His Excellency the Deputy President is an extremely meticulous and knowledgeable leader”, said Waita, adding “history will judge his legacy”.

While defending President Uhuru Kenyatta’s infrastructural legacy Waita said the role Ruto played especially in the first half of Uhuru’s administration can not go unrecognized.

On President Uhuru’s fixation with infrastructural development Waita said:  “Those investments have set the country on a growth trajectory. People can now see what the future looks like in terms of infrastructure, digital availability, and job creation. It’s rather pedestrian that a leader of a national caliber can boldly proclaim that people do not eat roads.”

Nzioka also revealed that he gunning for the Machakos Gubernatorial in the upcoming August polls.

“I’m not a politician, I’m an administrator. I fix things. With a Woman Representative, a Senator, 8 MPs, and MCA’s Machakos County have enough politicians. I’m not coming in to engage in political bickering I’m coming to serve the people,” he noted.

Just like the former Rift Valley Regional Commander George Natembeya who has joined the Trans Nzoia Gubernatorial race offering himself as a solution to the political problem, Waita seemed convinced that he is a godsend solution for Machakos County.

For a person who was so close to the center of power, it is revealing that Waita holds the DP in such high esteem.
