Pay Bribes Or Get Sent to ‘Virus Incubation’ Quarantine Centers

The living conditions at quarantine centers set up around the country to prevent the spread of the coronavirus are very poor, these virus incubation centers are full to the brim and the police are working under stern directives to arrest and send any person flouting government ‘anti-corona’ directives and send them there, but there is a catch.

The Kenyan police are offering options to pay for your freedom or get sent to these centers, given the sad state of the quarantine centers, Kenyans are choosing to pay and go home and risk exposing families and spike the curve rather than go live in the centers of death for 14 days.

Kenyanbulletin recently highlighted the inhumane living conditions at one of these centers. Earlier today, Images of people sleeping on the floor at the quarantine center set up at Kenya High School surfaced online and Kenyans had something to say.

“I would escape…” A user, Ndirangu on Twitter wrote.

“Kenya is a country characterized by carelessness and poor leadership right from the top. How can they comfortably suffocate multitudes of coronavirus suspects in a room and expect them not to contract it from each other?” Ontiridun posed.

“@MOH_Kenya abdicated their duties to police. Police turned quarantine centers into detention centers. No wonder those taken to these centers feel the urge to escape.” Another user wrote.
“Clearly we are working very hard to make sure we have higher numbers than other African countries, just because we can’t win the CECAFA tournament doesn’t mean we can’t win the Covid-19 one. This are the dangers of not giving clear directives.”
