Hundreds of elders on Saturday gathered at the Mukurwe wa Nyagathanga shrine in Murang’a ahead of National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi’s coronation.
Governor Mwangi wa Iria had vowed not to allow the ceremony to be conducted in the shrine, saying it would desecrate the site.
However, Muturi received endorsement from a section of Governors from Mt Kenya to be the region spokesperson.
The Governors of Meru, Tharaka Nithi and Embu on Friday met with Muturi ahead of his coronation as the Spokesperson of Mt. Kenya region.
