Yesterday, former PM Raila Odinga confirmed that he had tested positive for the coronavirus.
The news came in just a day after the AU’s Special envoy was confirmed to have checked in the Nairobi Hospital VVIP section for his annual check-up.
According to blogger Robert Alai, Raila Odinga is admitted to one of only 8 VVIP sections of the city-based hospital.
“This is the VVIP Ward at Nairobi Hospital that enigma Raila Odinga will be taking rest at” he posted.
The VVIP section is equipped with;
- -Security holding area
- Full boardroom which can be used to hold meetings
- Homely atmosphere
Estimated Rates for bed only starts from Ksh 100,000 ($1,000) per day. The Hospital has 8 of them and always full since COVID-19 started.

Yesternight, Deputy President William Ruto sent his good wishes to Raila and the Odinga family and wished him a quick recovery.
Unconfirmed reports alleged that retired former President Mwai Kibaki is also at the Nairobi Hospital for annual tests.
