After receiving intelligence on the planned robbery at Allaxis Hotel located along Migori -Rongo road, DCI detectives in the area laid an ambush where six suspected robbers arrived in on motor bikes ready to execute the planned mission.

The six suspects were asked to surrender but instead fired at the detectives leading to a shoot out during which two suspects were fatally injured as the rest escaped with gunshot wounds.
One detective sustained a gun shot on the right shoulder and currently receiving treatment and in a stable condition.

The officers recovered one AK 47 rifle loaded with 16 rounds of ammunition, a rungu, torch and other paraphernalia as the pursuit of the escaped suspect is said to be ongoing.
