Police in Kericho County are hunting down a runway Form Three student from Ainamoi Secondary School who attacked the school principal and stabbed him in the head with a four-inch a nail.

According to accounts, the 18-year-old student attacked Godfrey Rono after he was asked to clear Sh7,000 fee balance.

Confirming the incident, Kericho County Police Commander Silas Gichunge said that the student swung a wooden plank at the principal yesterday.

“The principal had ordered the student’s locker to be taken away until the debt was paid up,” Gichunge said.

The bizarre incident has thrown learning in the institution into disarray.

According to preliminary investigations, the boy who is still on the run has a history of threatening teachers and his behaviour had been reported more than once.

The principal was rushed into a nearby hospital for emergency treatment and discharged after the incident.
