Two more Kenyans have been killed and nine others left severy injured after chaos erupted in protests after a police officer allegedly killed a cobbler for not wearing a face mask at Lessos in Nandi County.
Sources say the police and area residents were engaged in running battles after one of the officers shot dead the man who was without a facemask earlier today, the man was also physically challenged.
According to information sent to Kenyanbulletin.com, a heated argument ensued when one resident was arrested for no having a facemask.
The man who was killed resolved to rescue the arrested man by trying to negotiate with the killer cop to release the man.
The situation, however, took a drastic turn when the police officer fired three gunshots killing the man instantly.
The residents then lay the body of the dead man on the Kapsabet-Eldoret road protesting attempts by the police to transfer it to the mortuary before proceeding to the home of one of the senior police officers and burning it down.

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) has initiated investigations into the incident .
“…IPOA dispatched its Rapid Response Investigation team, which is already at the scene and has initiated investigations into the matter with a view of establishing how the shooting happened and if the force used was necessary,” read a statement by IPOA Chairperson Anne Makori.
