Is the question on the lips of many of the Malava constituency, Kakamega county, electorate who are more confused with the recent moves by their area MP Malulu Injendi who never misses to eat sacraments on a Sunday at a catholic church situated at Isanjiro primary in Malava town promising to stick to the Bible teachings. Is it possible that evil spirits have
invaded the heart of Injendi and like he claimed when William Ruto visited his home in what appeared like a reuniting moment just weeks after the second term legislator was spotted at ODM leader Raila Odinga’s Karen office in the company of Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya declaring allegiance. Malulu is a Luhya word that means something bitter while Injendi means hovering around and now the combination maybe hounding the MP.

A week after, Injendi hosted Ruto and publicly said he did not know how he found himself at the offices of Raila and only saw his body trembling while he shook hands with the former prime minister asking Christians present to pray for him. In his address, the angry deputy president said that he could not allow himself to lose Injendi after heavily investing in him and that they have resolved to work together, a relationship that was short-lived. Ruto was convinced by Injendi to hold a harambee for Friends Church Malava where millions were raised and just weeks after the drive, the MP declared to have joined Musalia Mudavadi led Amani National Congress party team and even visited the party offices situated in Malava town. The party supporters now claim Injendi ought to be taken to a quarantine centre first for sanitation before they fully accept him over his recent uncertain moves.

The ground in the area is shifting first against Injendi and he seems confused over what ails his political career as heckling has become the order of the day whenever he attends public functions and is now forced to ferry youth and women to cheer him and now many says he lied until the owner noticed and now it may be payback time. Injendi has many unfulfilled promises that are threatening to end his political career in the coming election among them setting up a medical training centre at Malanga trading centre and bringing a university branch in the area that is rich in cane growing and hosts two factories of West Kenya and Butali sugar mills. At the constituency offices, Injendi has employed his cronies and relatives who hail from his Abasonje clan of the Kabras subtribe of the Luhya. Contracts are given to his family members who include his children and friends who are forced to part with huge kickbacks. More than six candidates have
shown interest to unseat Injendi among them Joab Manyasi, Nelson Taliti and Caleb Sunguti.
