President William Ruto has joined the rest of the country’s leaders in mourning the death of Anita Kendi Kiraitu, the daughter of former Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi.
President Ruto, in a message of condolences, described the loss as heartbreaking and sent his sympathies to Kiraitu Murungi and his family during the difficult period of grief and mourning. The Head of State prayed for strength and comfort to the bereaved family as they come to terms with the tragedy.
Other political leaders joined Kenyans in sending messages of support to the former gubernatorial candidate.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua also joined in mourning Anita’s death, describing Kiraitu as a revered national leader and elder statesman.
We were very sad to hear of the death of Anita Kendi Kiraitu. “May the Almighty God comfort the family and give them strength at this painful moment,” Gachagua said in his message of condolences.
Political leaders across the divide eulogised the Kiraitu family for service to the public and urged Kenyans to stand with them in prayers and solidarity.
Anita was described in many social media messages of comfort as humble, kind-hearted, and loved dearly by family and friends. Kenyans also sent prayers for the family, hoping they would find peace and healing in this time of mourning.
