Raila Odinga Jr engages Murkomen in heated Twitter spat

Raila Odinga Jr

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Raila Junior Odinga have traded barbs on Twitter over a tweet wrote by the senator in 2017 where he mocked Raila’s then imminent swearing in as the people’s president.

Junior reminded Murkomen of a tweet by a netizen identified as Ben Baimwera who had responded to him saying his words would come back to haunt him in future.

In an apparent reference to the current woes faced by the second-term lawmaker and other Deputy President William Ruto’s allies, the ODM leader’s son told Murkomen the internet never forgets.

“It’s said power is sweet, the profound words Ben Baimwera are coming to haunt Kipchumba Murkomen,”Raila Junior wrote on his page.

Angered by the remarks, the Tanga Tanga lawmaker clapped back asking Junior to tag his father and State House instead.

“Makes more sense if you tag Raila Odinga State House Kenya. Remember that if the right path to leadership is the one established by your father then I am walking in a path well trodden. At My age your dad was not yet MP. I was just doing my job you, relax things will change again,”the legislator argued.

Murkomen was ousted as leader of majority in the Senate on Monday, May 11, in a PG meeting held at State House, Nairobi.

He was replaced by West Pokot Senator Samuel Poghisio, a Kanu member.
