Raila to accompany Uhuru to the Russia- Africa summit

President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to attend Russia-Africa summit in Sochi, Russia, next week. The two day event will bring together more than 50 heads of state from Africa.

The event will mark the core of Russia’s President Vladimir Putin’s push to neutralize the western influence in the continent.

Accompanying the president to the summit is the AU envoy on Infrastructure development Raila Odinga and Cooperate guru Vimal Shah who will represent the business community and Richard Ngatia, the president of Kenya National Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

The first ever summit will be co-chaired by President Putin and Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el Sisi who is the AU chairman.

Raila will be a panelist in one of the sessions between 23 and 24 in the event that has been organized by Rosco Foundation.The summit will bring together more than 3000 C.E.Os and businessmen with an aim of pushing Russia -African relations to a whole new level with aims to improve economies.

President Putin expressed confidence that the forum would become a unique platform for the discussion and adoption of constructive decisions that enhance co-operation. A joint document is will be adopted when the curtains fall on the summit.
