As tough economic times continue to slice into the heart of businesses, more and more companies are letting go of employees and the latest is real estate firm Suraya Property Group.
Perhaps what has shocked a lot of people is the manner in which the Human Resource department allegedly communicated the laying off. Staff were allegedly dismissed via text in an unprofessional manner with no pay.
The firm says the laying off is due to the financial challenges it is experiencing. In the text, the Company also says that any outstanding Salaries owed to the staff “will be paid as soon as funds are available”
Suraya properties are not new to the limelight, the firm has been in the past accused of fraud after Kenyans lost millions of shillings after multiple Suraya housing projects collapsed.
