Reggae spin master turned politician Kris Darling kneels before Raila Odinga in a bid to secure Kibra parliamentary seat

Popular reggae DJ Kris Darling on Sunday, August 25 courted controversy after kneeling before ODM party leader Raila Odinga in a bid to get an endorsement for the vacant Kibra seat.

The revered entertainment guru recently made his intentions in politics known after he presented his official documents to the ODM headquarters on Wednesday, August 21.

It was a surprising move for the entertainer who is about to learn the hard way that showbiz is not necessarily the same as politics.

Kris Darling was among the hopefuls who were in the presence of Raila on Sunday, where the party announced dates for its primaries.

In an attempt to stand out, the fairly new politician decided to risk it all as he went down on his knees to ask for the ODM party leader’s endorsement for the Kibra ticket.

“I have heard that there are many young men in Parliament fighting Baba (Raila), allow me as their fellow youth to go fight them in there as you wait to fight in 2022,” Kris Darling can be heard saying in the video.

He went on to completely flutter Raila by declaring he was ready to be shot , if it meant the ODM leader would go on to win the 2022 poll.

“Let them shoot me, if it means that you remain and lead in 2022…I ask that you hold my hand Baba…” he went on.

It was quite the ironic sight as the TV show host chose to seek an endorsement at a meeting whose initial agenda was to rule out direct nominations.

Kriss Darling is set to battle it out alongside 26 other ODM hopefuls for the ticket which would see one candidate take on others for the vacant Kibra seat.
