Embattled Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa has said that she is ready to go to jail if found guilty of killing the uncle to ODM’s Ganda ward winner Reuben Katana. Jumwa and Tanga Tanga wing of Jubilee party supported an indipendent candidate who lost in the by election.
Jumwa and her bodyguard were arrested on October 16, after they stormed into Katana’s residence to protest against him allegedly campaigning beyond stipulatedtime.
Jumwa said that she is not above the law, she told the security and investigating agencies to carry on with their work and she confident that truth and justice will prevail.
She was holding the first meeting at her Kakuyuni home on Fridaysince her release on bail where she accused some coast politicians of pushing for her arrest. She also also added that even if she jailed, she will still remain to be counted among Mijikenda leaders who fought hard to defend their people.
Jumwa took a swipe at ODM and its leader, Raila Odinga, stating that Raila has never been a spokesman of the Mijikenda and will never be. She urged her community to stand firm to get their demands right.
She also added that the late Minister Karisa Maitha and Ronald Ngala earned the Mijikenda community a prestigous spot on the national stage.
He urged Kilifi Governor to always fight for the community while accusing Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho of taking a back seat since the handshake. Joho is nolonger vibrant.
