Renowned sports journalist Robert Soi has died at the Nairobi Hospital after complications from surgery to remove a blood clot in the brain.
According to the family, Soi was admitted to the facility late last week after he was involved in an accident a while back that left him with head injuries.
He underwent surgery at the facility then slipped into a coma before passing on Wednesday in the afternoon.
Soi, who worked at KTN as a sports news presenter before moving to the China Global Television Network (CGTN), was married to Aljazeera journalist Catherine Soi.
His friends and colleagues in the media industry and beyond have since taken to social media to pass their condolence messages to the family:
