Over the weekend, comrades as popularly known as, of Moi University were the talk on the social media sites.
From torn shoes to emaciated bodies, Kenyans on social media sites had all mixed reactions and actions to students at the Eldoret based Moi University.
Earlier today, a latter allegedly from the Dean of Students at Moi University had emerged requesting class reps to forward names of the starving students.

“Most parents and society have had this wrong perception that a student at the University have got a lot of money but it is not true, what HELB gives you you need to pay University Fees, you will realize you are remaining with less than 2000 which can’t match the assignments you print, the food you eat, the transport cost, and even others the rent you pay, comrades really suffer, you find a genuine Comrade who is his own parent, even the Helb he gets he sends all of it at home to pay fees for his young sibling… It’s part of life,” Juma posted on Facebook.
“Life was cheap in moi university when students were cooking in the hostels. The new VC banned cooking without improving the university mess. Eating outside the school is very expensive for some students,” Makaveli shared on Facebook.
“This is great but the problem is that the Dean will end up getting a list of the entire university…even the names of those who sleep and wake up in local keg joints,” Kabila stated on GScroll.
“It happened to me,I Know how it feels. Living in a 1200 rent house with 3. Men but again we were not able to raise the rent money. It forced me to wake up as early as 3am to go bake and prepare chapati ndio tukule free na mabeshte zangu pale moi university. Life in that school is very hard bana,” Frank said on Twitter.
Universities have now become a place that natures suicidal thoughts in youths and most succumb to it in worst cases or venture into harmful lifestyle.
“Breaks my heart . So sad seeing bright INTELLECTUALS with potential suffering . It’s sad to hear that most of campus chicks are now selling their bodies to survive in GITHURAI, RIVERROAD,KASARANI, ZIMMERMAN,E.T.C…….. The male students are becoming hopeless and suicidal. Nobody seems to care about our future intellects. They are mocked and told that” hiyo masomo haiwezi wasaidia ” I blame this failed government ran by a semi illiterate president, who has made it clear how much he hates educated people and university students. His rogue policemen and GSU have killed thousands of students since 2013, maimed students who were exercising their Rights to demonstrate and even raped thousands of university ladies. It’s clear this government doesn’t give a SHIT about university students at all. Ata heri moi,aliheshimuu wasomii,” Rodney shared on Facebook.
