Revealed: Waititu Hid In DP Ruto’s House As Police Searched For Him

After the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji ordered for the arrest of the now suspended Kiambu County Governor Ferdinand Waititu and his wife over the half a billion irregular tender; the duo were nowhere to be found.

They had abandoned their homes and phones with speculations rife that they had fled to the neighboring Tanzania after being tipped about the looming arrest.

However, it has now emerged that Waititu was at the home of a top Jubilee leader; and because of respect accorded to the office, no one dared to move into the compound.

There were claims Waititu even used the top official’s car. Ethics and Anti-Corruption sleuths had searched his three homes in Nairobi without success since Friday. On Sunday, Waititu voluntarily presented himself at the Integrity Center. His lawyers had said and maintained that the governor was out of town.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has been investigating allegations of irregular procurement of a tender for the upgrading of various gravel roads to bituminous surface in the county, awarded to M/s Testimony Enterprises Ltd worth Sh588 million during the financial year 2017/2018. Most of the firms are associated with the embattled governor through proxies.
