A police officer is nursing injuries after he was hit by a stone and badly injured by a rude Boda-boda rider in Nairobi.
According to police reports, the officer, Nimrod Maryin Munyoro was on traffic duty manning City Stadium round-about along Jogoo road before the incident.
It is reported that at around 11.30hrs on Tuesday evening, the officer stopped a motorcycle, registration number; KMEM 773G before detecting numerous traffic offences.
Among the offences that the motorcycle was found with included lack of insurance, the rider missing a driving license, lack of helmet as well as a reflector jacket.
Upon inquiry, the rider is reported to have abandoned the motorcycle and ran away. After some time, the said rider came back, armed with a stone and pelted it on the police officer’s right ear and escaped leaving him with a deep cut.
The injured officer is said to have been rushed to Debomart Health Center Bahati, where he was treated and discharged in fair condition.
The motorcycle was dragged to Makongeni police station where it is currently detained pending arrest of the rider.
