Rogue Keroche Breweries in fresh scandal with sales staff
Tabitha Karanja, owner and CEO, Keroche

Before KRA came knocking a second time shutting down the company over tax arrears, the rogue company Keroche had totally ripped off its sales staff.

Tabitha Karanja, the Keroche Breweries founder and CEO has for a long time mistreated sales staff charged with pushing the company’s products in the Kenyan market.

Salaries are not paid on time and commissions have never been paid on sales made.

Currently, she owes sales staff 11 months’ salary and commissions. Efforts to reach her and or Mr. Karanja (chairman) have remained futile.

In December 2021, instead of paying full salary to the sales staff, she paid a paltry Kshs 10,000. She has refused to engage sales staff on the salary issues and to date, she remains unresponsive.

Sales staff are suffering, we are now deep in debt rents, school fees for our children and medical bills remain unpaid.

Auction

Sales staff say that auctioneers sent by their landlords are a daily occurrence. The last engagement with the company on this issue was held on the 4th of May 2022; chaired by Nicholas Kechir, the deputy of Brewery & also in charge of the sales team).

Nicholas assured staff that in 7 days the sales team would be paid 2 months salary. This did not happen.

“Tabitha Karanja is a serial non-payer of salaries and she is now looking for ways to do away with the current sales team without paying a single shilling. She is on verbal record as saying she doesn’t fear the courts and thus the only option we have is to fight for our money through social media. Tabitha karanja owes sales staff 11 months salary,” a person in the sales team said
