Former Brazil and Barcelona soccer star, Ronaldinho Gaucho is being held in a Paraguayan jail for using a falsified passport to enter the South American country. The prosecutor of the case also said that the retired soccer star is being investigated for other crimes.
Though Osmar Legal did not clarify what the other additional crimes were, the Brazilian news site Globoesporte reported that there are ‘indications’ that Ronaldinho and his brother who doubles upa s his business manager Roberto Assis committed other crimes.
Their lawyer Sergio Queiroz did not immediately respond to questions from international outlets as Reuters’ requests for comment but Queiroz had told reporter’s that the case was only about the adulterated passports but he completely refused to comment on “suppositions” made in the press.
“The case as it was presented is clear. There is no other case being investigated, you can see that there in the documents.” Queiroz said as he called the detention of the two brothers “arbitrary, abusive and illegal”.
