Former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioner Roselyn Akombe is a happy mother after her daughter graduated from New York University.

Joy graduated from the university’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business on Thursday.

Akombe, 45, took to Twitter to congratulate her daughter and thanked her mother and family for helping raise the girl.

“Overjoyed! Congratulations my baby! Tumetoka mbali. From being tear-gassed at Karura Forest with you in tummy to the independent, articulate, strong, brilliant #NYU2021 graduate! Special thanks to my mother and fam who always step in for me,” Akombe captioned photos of her daughter wearing a graduation gown.

The doting mother shared several photos from her beautiful daughter’s graduation.

Akombe’s Twitter followers joined her in applauding her daughter, with one curious user asking why she failed to acknowledge the girl’s father.

Akombe replied: “You give credit where it is due!”
