President Uhuru Kenyatta has completely kicked out party officials affiliated to Deputy President William Ruto and replaced them with his own people at the National Management Committee (NMC) of Jubilee party.
Via Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju, Uhuru officially published changes made to the outfit’s NMC despite protests from Deputy President William and his camp.
Appearing in the dailies on Saturday, May 2nd, the formal appointment of five people, Ms. Lucy Nyaguthii Macharia, Prof Marete Marangu, former Kitutu Masaba MP Walter Nyambati, Ms. Jane Nampaso, and Mr. James Waweru by the Registrar of Parties on April 6 was published.
Dp Ruto and his camp are planning to go to court to stop the process. Two weeks ago, the Registrar of Political Parties Anne Nderitu referred the matter back to the party following over 300 protest letters she received from members allied to the DP.
The party’s deputy secretary-general Caleb Kositany has said the ousting of DP Ruto’s allies will not stand as it was “illegal and fraudulent”
