In less than 3 weeks to come, Kibra constituents will have by-elections to refill the vacancy left by the late Ken Okoth who succumed to cancer.
This is more like a two horse race between Ruto’s candidate on Jubilee McDonald Mariga and Raila’s ODM candidate and late Ken Okoth’s younger brother Benard Imran Okoth. Well Musalia Mudavadi, who is most likely Ruto’s project, ANC’s Eliud Owalo blunk hopes also are believed to be there, i say he’s just a spoiler his his tippler Boss.
Kibra seat is a do or die for DP Ruto who’s game plan has been to splash money everywhere and where possible, employ violence and Raila Odinga who calls the dirty face of Kenyan Urban poverty his bedroom. Ruto is doing what ODM has always been doing, and from people on the ground, he’s doing it even more better than ODM handlers were doing.
The brains behind this tactics is former Nyatike MP Edick Omondi Anyanga, Raila’s insider who is privy to the tactics Raila uses. Ruto has recruited him to deploy these tactics in Kibra.
For those of you who can remember, the two term Nyatike parliamentary seat winner reined by terrorising on competitors.
In 2014, the ex MP was interogated by the office of Migori CID county commander Violet Makhanu over his involvement in the incident in which vicious youths heckled and threw chairs and shoes at President Uhuru Kenyatta during a function at the Migori Primary School grounds.
ODM MPs being aware of the same touted this development in their statement last week.
“The pattern of events, the impunity by Ruto and the insults he is embarking on indicate just one thing: It is not elections Ruto wants in Kibra. Ruto is looking for chaos, violence and war. That is why he is dragging Raila into this contest. Ruto wants to provoke the people of Kibra to respond to his contempt for them and for Raila and his insults so that chaos may erupt because Ruto thrives in chaos and violence.” Their joint statement read in part.
According to ODM members, the Anyanga-led team operates in Kibra at night. They enter Kibra as soon as the the sun goes down and leaves at dawn. Together with Ruto’s PA Farouk Kibet, they comb the area while bribing voters.
“There is a possibility that people are already voting in Kibra” ODM complained.
But isn’t this the same things and cause that NASA had until Raila himself went ahead and betrayed not only NASA affiliate partners and founders but also the millions of Kenyans who were rallying behind it? Kuleni mavi iko kwa bedroom, that’s the same middle finger Raila gave the people.
