The country will most likely be informed of changes in school reopening dates following a stakeholders meeting that has been called today by the Education CS Prof. George Magoha.
The meeting is set to address the confusion that has surrounded the dates of school resumption in the country, six months after schools were closed due to COVID-19.
In the letter dated September 7th, 2020, Professor Magoha asked all education stakeholders in the country to present themselves in a special National conference to chart Kenya’s post-COVID-19 future in education and specifically address school reopening.
According to sources, the stakeholder meeting will discuss the possibility of allowing KCPE and KCSE exam candidates to report back to school to wind up the syllabus and sit for their national exams in January 2021.
All universities and colleges are also likely to be reopened for on-campus learning as was the case before.
The move is after Sunday marked the 10th straight day of a positivity rate that is under 5%.
