In one of the week’s bizarre incidents, a senior female employee at the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) was exposed for notoriously disobeying traffic rules.
Through a social media post on Friday, 17 December 2021, a brave Kenyan revealed how he refused to bow down to intimidation when a silver Toyota Hilux Double Cab [KDE 667V] blocked his way along Ngong Road.
After he stood firm on his ground and refused to budge, the lady occupant of the vehicle angrily stepped out and claimed to be a top KURA official who was on inspection duty along the particular highway.
“I met this lady driving on the wrong side along Ngong road and she has the audacity to tell me she works for Kenya Urban Roads Authority and she’s inspecting the road,” he frustratedly shared on Twitter.
Following an influx of negative comments from the incident, the state agency finally submitted a response to the allegations.
In a two-part reply to the complainant on Saturday 18th December 2021, KURA seemingly admitted to the poor behaviour by their staff and in turn heavily condemned it.
“KURA does not condone inappropriate behaviour either from public or staff. This case will be treated with the seriousness it deserves,” it reads in part.
They additionally pledged to carry out an internal investigation within the corporation with a view of taking action on the driver involved.
“Action will be taken disregard of his or her status,” it adds.
