Lawyer Miguna Miguna has said that he had been sent credible information that Kenya’s Cooronavirus quarantine centres are full of illicit activities among them GBV – Gender based Violence.
“We have received credible reports that the illegitimate despotic regime of Uhuru Kenyatta has forced thousands of Kenyans into filthy quarantine centres where men and women engage in unsafe sex due to frustrations. From coronavirus to HIV/Aids and sexually transmitted diseases. Even underage children (minors) have been detained and exposed to rape, assault, bacteria, viruses and sexually transmitted diseases unrelated to the coronavirus. What the despotic regime of Uhuru Kenyatta is doing is unconstitutional and violates international and domestic law”, He wrote
A few weeks back, a lady sent a video (click her to view) to KenyanBulletin.com about the Lenana Quarantine centre. The video documented the horid conditions at the institution.
Bottom-line is that the dirt and mismanagement at the quarantine centre was unimaginable and clearly one that potentially outs more at risk of contracting the virus.
GBV Rampant
Miguna’s claims are not wild because at the beginning of the stay at home order, the Kenyan Police and Judiciary pointed to a spike of gender-based violence.
