The circumstances of their deaths on 11 July were not known. Her family said the 24-year-old, known as Miss Thea, who had 160,000 fans on Instagram and nearly 90,000 followers on YouTube, did not die in childbirth.

Another statement from her mum said the 24-year-old, who was eight months pregnant, had named her child Reign with her partner Boga.

“To all Nicole’s friends and supporters, it is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Nicole and her son she and Boga named Reign sadly passed away on Saturday morning. Also Nicole pre-scheduled a few YouTube videos and Boga has made the decision to allow them to be aired. As a family we ask that you give us privacy because our hearts are truly broken and we are struggling to cope with what has happened.”

Thea, a dancer, lived in London with her partner Jeffrey Frimpong, 20, known on Instagram as Global Boga.

In April, Thea and her partner announced the pregnancy with an Instagram post.

“We can’t hide this any longer, secrets out. GOD gave us the biggest blessing yet. I’m finally creating a beautiful little human inside of me.”

The final video posted to Miss Thea’s YouTube featured her in a milk bath. It was put up shortly before her death was confirmed on her Instagram account.

In the 14-minute video, bottles of full-fat milk are dumped into a bathtub before Nicole lowers herself in and flower heads and slices of grapefruit are placed around her. The clip, which had comments switched off, is titled: “Got in a bath full of milk! BTS pregnancy shoot.”

In the days before her death, Nicole was posting regularly on Instagram and sharing her excitement about becoming a mum for the first time.

The dancer and influencer, who lived in London, had kept fans up-to-date on her pregnancy, regularly posting videos on her YouTube channel and Instagram page.

Her partner Boga, part of the group Ghana Boyz, had recently posted a video of him dancing next to a pram – writing he couldn’t wait to take his son to the park and a playground.

Followers of the social media star also expressed their condolences to her family and her partner.

Love Island star Alexandra Cane said “This is heartbreaking”.

Meanwhile, the choreographer Sherrie Silver said she was “completely and utterly heartbroken” over the news.
