National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has distanced himself from a fake Facebook account claiming that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has no power to arrest Deputy President William Ruto.
The National Assembly Speaker said that he does not have any other social media account apart from Twitter.
He went on to call on Kenyans to treat any other social media account claiming to represent him as fake.
“May all and sundry know that I do not run any other social media account other than this handle. As such, any other medium out there purporting to represent me is a FAKE ACCOUNT!” wrote Muturi.
Speaker Muturi’s words came shortly after a Facebook account operating under his name said that DCI had no power or mandate to arrest DP Ruto because he enjoys immunity under the Constitution.
“Let some people stop fake minds and tension. Directorate of criminal investigation director has no power or mandate to arrest Our DP Ruto.
“Ruto has power of immunity can’t be arrested read constitution well. President and his deputy can’t be arrested or case while in power. Dr Ruto is part of presidency,” claimed the fake account.
