St Mary’s Sportsview Academy exposed

The editor of Kenyan bulletin has received information about St Mary’s Sportsview Academy based in Kasarani.

The complaint is about the exploitation of parents for online classes, and as schools plan to reopen, more suffering is expected by parents who have not complied to the school’s demand as at now.

Despite unutilized first terms fees, the school is charging parents sh5000 for online classes. Parents, most of who are put of jobs want the fees reduced to manageable sh2000.

“They have said that they will go ahead with with the syllabus despite outcry from the parents to reduce the charges to a manageable fee like 2,000 or use unutulized 1st term fees”, the source who is a parent at the school wrote.

Most parents that can’t afford these amount are on their own as the school says that they wouldn’t repeat the syllabus when school reopen.

“They have made it clear that when schools reopen they will not repeat the syllabus and the children currently not online will be left out. please note that the 4k is besides the school fees and they have even established a paybill number to collect this funds”, the source added.

Compulsory fees

The management is not available to help while the headmaster and the deputy and said that this is a compulsory fee and the they will continue with the syllabus with or without all children on board.

Parents are now asking the gov’t for help in this issues, some have called on the Kenya Private Schools Association to help.
