Kenyanbulletin.com has received information from an anonymous staff of Farm Concern International, a company that deals in value chain analysis, smallholder commercialization in Africa.
The Agribusiness support firm with offices in 7 African countries namely; Kenya, Malawi, Somalia, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Uganda is accused of non-payment of salaries for four months.
“Hi Editor, Maybe you can be of help to the many staff of an organisation called Farm Concern International who have gone without pay since December 2019. The organization’s management is keeping silent on the issue while the staff are wallowing in debt and struggling to pay their rents. With the current covid-19 pandemic and the fact that people are not going to work, salaries have still not been paid and they don’t know for how long they can hold on”, stated the staff who did not wish to be named.
Farm Concern International prides itself in working with various high-flying multi-lateral and bilateral donors such as United States Agency for International Development (USAID) East Africa, United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), AidStream, TraidCraft, IDRC ESARO, ACACIA, Africa Green Revolution Forum among others.
Staff say, explanations as to why they have not been paid aren’t forthcoming.
