A disappointed Kenyan has exposed a rude customer care attendant at a local television service provider.

Writing on his Twitter feed, the client explained how a simple inquiry regarding his StarTimes Smart TV met a totally impudent response from one of their social media handlers.

The guy identified as Ledama Simon had sent a Direct Message (DM) to the official StarTimes Twitter page requesting assistance on how to bypass a lock on his device.

“Good evening, Simon here. How do I get assistance if my StarTimes Smart TV shows the keylock and I cannot access it?” he asked.

In the first reply, he was advised to dial a private mobile phone number for further guidance on his issue.

When he expressed his dissatisfaction with the unhelpful instruction, the account administrator informed him that if he did not feel comfortable with the offered solution, he can as well choose to ignore it.

“You may or you may not call,” he was told.

This prompted Simon to publicly question the company on why one of their employees was addressing customers inappropriately.

“See how your customer service team responds to queries,” he wrote in the post.

StarTimes is a Chinese electronics and media company that enjoys a strong presence in Sub-Saharan Africa.

They offer digital terrestrial television and satellite television services to consumers and provides technologies to broadcasters that are switching from analogue to digital television.
