Supplier demands Sh2.3m delayed payment from Machakos County

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua

A young businessman based in Kenya has exposed how Machakos County boss Alfred Mutua and his administration have frustrated all his efforts to claim payment for a business deal conducted over 7 years ago.

Speaking out through a viral social media post, the supplier identified as Caleb Wanjawa revealed that in the year 2014, he delivered goods worth over Sh2.3 million to the Machakos County government and to date, he is yet to get a penny for his exploits.

The CEO of the company named Calf Holdings revealed that ever since the botched business deal took place, he has endlessly tried to contact relevant County Executive Committee (CEC) Members but found no success.

“I supplied County Government of Machakos with goods worth Kshs. 2,395,000- in year 2014. To date I have not been paid,”  he wrote in part of the post.

Even all his calls, e-mails and WhatsApp messages sent personally to Mutua went ignored.

“I have written several emails and WhatsApp messages to County Gov/CEC-in vain,” he added in the tweet shared below.

As of the publishing of this post, both Mutua and the official Machakos County communication team was yet to respond to the allegations made over 24 hours ago.

Just like the distraught Caleb Wanjala, all our calls to the governor’s office were immediately sent to voicemail.

We shall be keenly following this developing story and share subsequent updates.
