TV anchor Anne Kiguta is one of the lucky people to have survived the Mediamax layoff.
Kiguta who hosts the Punchline on Sunday night had a few words for her ex-colleagues who were shown the door.
In an emotional message seen by Kenyanbulletin.com on her Instagram account, the riveting anchor bid her ex-colleagues who had become family well in their next hustle.
According to the news anchor, everyone was okay on Sunday and none of them thought that it would be their last day working for K24.
“It takes a ❤️TEAM❤️. #Punchline is an intense program. Often before we go on air we are a beehive of actives. But yesterday my crew put on this old school hit and well I could not help myself.
“We had a great program but little did we know that nearly my entire team would have put on air their last production at K24,” she wrote.
She sent special thanks to her team who were rendered redundant saying it was through their hard work that the show managed to pick.
Kiguta prayed for those who were axed and asked God to bless them with bigger and better opportunities.
“It was a great pleasure working with you all and getting to know you. You are ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Thank you for all your technical support on #Punchline. I could not have done it without you. May God open wide new great doors for you all,” she added.
Meanwhile, on Monday, June 22 the country woke up to the sad news of layoffs at Mediamax Limited.
At least 100 employees were fired from the company after a long-standing stalemate between the management and workers.
