The other side as 200 cows stolen

Yesterday a multi-agency security team reported that they has recovered 200 cows that had been stolen in Laikipia county.

According to the Police report, the cows were stolen from Laikipia county and taken to neighbouring Baringo County by armed bandits.

Laikipia County Police Commander Maxwell Nyaema, said the bandits fled after realizing that the police were in hot pursuit.

Nyaema said the multiagency operation in the two Counties has in the recent past recovered about 72 illegal firearms from unlicensed gun holders have been recovered in the recent past by the multiagency operation team.

He warned parents abetting the vice saying those not taking their children to school and allowing them to indulge in criminal activities will be held accountable.

Residents are complaining that the heavy presence of police in the region is not very helpful because we can’t say bandits have outsmarted the cops!

Livestock theft has left a majority of them poor and sick~from the attacks, as they try to come to terms with the perennial cases of banditry attacks and livestock raids.

With total disregard of the heavy presence of security personnel drawn from various units among the RDU and GSU, the bandits are too daring saying and they commit the raids in daylight and at night raids too.

According to residents, livestock theft is a coordinated attack on a whole village are villages, so how many cows are stolen? The number makes the recovery a mockery.

Cold wars? Or just other engineered political raids and mighty show off?

Perhaps, lazy police personnel have something to tell people after just being around and not tactically stopping these raid before or soon as they happen. They have recovered afew from the raids, no bandits arrested neither do the police have suspects.

But do they really want to work, after that Kapedo mess? Or that mess exposed people that don’t want the police to work.

The who’s and why is a story for another
