This is what hospitalised NASA Coalition CEO Norman Magaya has been up to

Norman Magaya, NASA Coalition CEO who has been hospitalised for specialized treatment since September 2019

National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition Chief Executive Norman Magaya has spent the nine months in hospital writing books.

“To keep myself sane during the long period I have been indisposed, I decided to do some scholarly writing. Happy to have manuscripts for three books going to the publisher next week in the areas of International Environmental Law, Oil and Gas Law and Oil revenues mgt models!’, he wrote on his Twitter account.

The issue of Mr Magaya’s deteriorating health and neglect by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party was brought to the limelight by former ODM Deputy director of communications Dikembe Disembe.

Disembe whose real name is Seth Odongo had through a long Twitter post written,

“Many of you may have read that Norman Magaya, the former head of NASA Coalition Secretariat, collapsed at Bomas of Kenya in August 2017 during the verification of presidential votes. Here is an article that reported the incident… Right now Magaya is so weak and thin; the body wasted by whatever it is that happened to him at Bomas, the spirit stung by the disloyalty, the isolation and the neglect by the political class he dutifully served”.

These words stung the party to action where Magaya was flown to hospital in South Africa, at that time the party said that he would be out of the country for a few weeks only, however, Magaya who irevealed that he was suffering from heart complications has spent more than 9 months in hospital.

Magaya has been intermittently updating Kenyans on social media about his progress.

In 2017, while defending the election results of his coalition from rigging, Magaya collapsed at Bomas.

“The Bomas incident is well known to the people who should know; and it is generally understood that it was not natural. Magaya must have been poisoned. Or something more terrible happened there”, Disembe wrote.

Magaya is now an author waiting to publish his three scholarly writings.
