Yesterday President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived at Harambee House in Nairobi to address the nation on the corona-virus pandemic where he did avoid shaking hands with the CS present and also drove in a vehicle with inverted number plate. His Presidential vehicle’s front number plate was fixed upside down, and instead of KCW 980H it appeared as H086 MƆʞ.
Corona virus confusion
Kenyans were left confused after Images of Uhuru’s car with “inverted” number plates went viral. This has brought several sectors of the world to a standstill and Kenyans couldn’t help but see the glaring ‘error’ on his number plate.
Kenyans went ahead to critic the move and the “confused’ state of the nation. Many took to social media to react and question the people involve. It was not clear whether the action was deliberate or a mistake. But it raises questions considering the large number of people involved in the presidential protocol team.

Upside-Down Number Plates
In Europe, prominent people are allowed to drive in vehicles with upside-down plates as a mark of uniqueness. Maybe the President was just being unique.
The President was not being unique. He was announcing that two more people have tested positive for the dreaded virus!
This is why Uhuru drove in a Vehicle with an inverted Number plate:-
- Its A standard procedure, when the presidential vehicle has no National Flag.
- Its a standard procedure, indicating that the Head of State is not carrying good news.
