Sarah Wairimu’s scathing speech at the burial of her murdered husband Tob Cohen did not go well with a section of the tycoon’s friends.
President Uhuru Kenyatta’s cousin Kungu Muigai, who attended the event alongside his brother Ngengi, said he found the speech to be insulting.
Kung’u, who negotiated dowry during Cohen’s marriage to Wairimu, said friends did not bear any malice but were only interested in finding the truth about the tycoon’s death.
“That was an insult to us, I have known Sarah and Cohen for many years and I don’t know why she is angry with his friends for seeking to know what happened to our friend,” the retired army captain said.
Cohen’s neighbor and longtime friend Patrick Muiruri also in attendance at the ceremony attended by Cohen’s close friends and family members.
Wairimu, who is also a prime suspect in her husband’s murder, made a brief speech where she accused some friends and family members of betrayal.
She further claimed that some of the people behind her husband’s death were at the burial ceremony describing them as wolves in a sheep’s skin.
“I am not scared of anybody. One thing Tob taught me is not to take no for an answer. So, even in this I’m going to fight. And even as we stand here … the ones responsible for Tob’s death are here in sheep’s skin, be sure your days are numbered,” she said.
