Victims left nursing gun wounds after a night raid in Murang’a

Three members of Githagara village in Kahuro are nursing bullet wounds after they were raided and shot by a gang that is alleged to have stolen a pistol from traffic officers.

In the first incident, the gang robbed a shop keeper of an unknown amount on Thursday night.

The two robbers bought airtime before another accomplice pulled and pointed the pistol at the shopkeeper.Victims were left with bullet wounds in the head, stomach and leg.

The incident at the shopping center came a day after a traffic officer lost pistol at the Kabuta railway line. The pistol was loaded.

The victims were rushed to Murang’a District Hospital as police launch manhunt for the gang members who are on the run. Witness Edwin Karuri recounted how a victim he was with was shot in the leg.

Witnesses are collaborating with the police and local authorities to help in identifying the suspects. Villagers also collected the spent cartridges and handed over to police to assist in investigation and identification of the gun used.

Mugoiri MCA Sospeter Nyoko emphasized on the need for police to conduct speedy investigations and arrest the suspects.
