Wanyama to set up his foundation in Busia

Tottenham Hostspurs and Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama has set up his foundation to nurture budding talents and provide holistic education.
The Victor Wanyama Foundation will set base in Busia where the Harambee Stars skipper has acquired a 21 acre piece of land to house the foundation and Victor Wanyama Academy.
Wanyama Academy aims to sharpen talents in arts, sports and at the same time provide a access to academic excellence.
The talented midfielder wants the academy to have a national face in tandem with its excellence as it aims to shape kids from eleven year of age.
The foundation will revolutionize training in sports in the country and provide key infrastructure in sporting excellence, a statement in their portal read.
Wanyama is keen to help youths from humble backgrounds to excel since he understands their predicaments having grown under the same tough conditions.
As the construction begins Busia, the Foundation is already on with its charity work. They are looking for a boy and a girl who scored over 400 marks in the just released KCPE results but are genuinely needy. The two students will be sponsored through high school.
Interested candidates can apply online at the foundation’s website www.victorwanyamafoundation and send to [email protected]. Wanyama calls this a small way of giving back to the community.
