In a heartbreaking video that has surfaced online, a family was yesternight kicked out of their rental home in Ruai, Kamulu after they were late on their Sh4000 rent with one day.
Mr. Henry Tarichia who is the owner of these rental houses is said to have locked the house leaving the family whose breadwinner is a matatu operator with an 8-month-old baby out in the middle of the night and then locked himself in his house.

This inhumane act comes in the middle of a countrywide lockdown which has seen thousands lose jobs and many unable to earn due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Netizens have taken to social media to condemn this act, “Some people are so selfish and heartless they forget we will all eventually die and leave the houses and money here. Even after what God is trying to show us some people are just completely deaf and blind to reality. May God help that family.” @mairadileiman writes,
“Why would you lock up a house when you have a person’s one or two months deposit if it comes to the worst let it cushion him and then you can part ways when it’s done and in agreement to repair any damages,” Njenga laments.
