Video! Nyandarua family forced to ferry casket with donkey over poor road

Mixed feelings rocked Olborosat village in Nyandarua county when the body of late Alice Njoki Njoroge finally arrived home for the long awaited funeral service.

It was a long day for the family and the rest of Shamata ward residents who picked the body at JM Hospital Mortuary in Ol Kolau hoping to give Njoki a befitting send off later on the day.

Things went on well as planned until the hearse branched off into an all-weather road connecting Njoki’s home in Shamata area to the main road.

However, the journey back home was not going to be one she would have expected on her last day on earth.

It rained in the previous day making the road impassable and as a result of the mud, the hearse get stuck for hours.

Attempts to pull it out of the mud proved futile for the family who were then forced to seek services of a two-donkey cart to ferry her body.
