A resident of Oak Park Estate, Thika Superhighway, has written to KenyanBuletin.com how his uncle that lived in Buruburu suddenly died complaining of chest complications.
“I have woken up with a sad note this morning when I received a call from my mum at 7am. with news that one of my Uncle has passed On this morning. Reason of death is the COVID 19 case. Two days prior He complained of chest pains then yesterday he SUDDENLY lost his breathing He was rushed to hospital this morning at 3am he was pronounced dead”, she wrote
The man, who is the breadwinner innocently went out to work like most Kenyans while his family stayed indoors as per the government directive on social distancing in the fight against coronavirus.
“Since the government emphasized the issue of lockdown my aunt took precautions and never left the house but my Uncle being the man of the house felt he still had to go on and do business as usual”. she continued.
The whole family members and their contacts have now been put on quarantine.
“My aunty as i text is in KU locked up in isolation. The kids who are 4 of them they are in isolation in Mbagathi hospital. My uncle is to be buried in the next 24 hrs by the government”.
Other (not sick) family members are not allowed near their dead kin
Symptoms like common cold
“We as a family we are not allowed to even go near them or even close to KU gate outside. I felt a need to share this with members of this estate Don’t be fooled and Don’t be lied to this thing is real and it has spread so much the symptoms are like common cold then immediately rise to other serious levels. My brothers and sisters you never know the pain until its closer home i have now experienced it first hand”,she warns
She now urges Kenyans to hed to the social distancing rules and other measures announced bu the government in order to defeat coronavirus.
“Please stay at home if there is no urgency or emergency to go out Please stay at home. Covid 19 is a bush fire my aunts, neighbors and friends are in self-quarantine now mandatory they lived in Buru Buru phase 5. This are behind scenes you will not see on the news. This death will maybe not even be recorded that a person has died of coronavirus the people his interacted are many. The main reason for this personal story is be informed coronavirus is real let’s protect our families and loved ones”, she states
Coronavirus has been confirmed in 246 Kenyans, there have been 53 recoveries and 11 deaths.
