Videos: How Raphael Tuju Was Rushed To Hospital After Accident

 

Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju has was airlifted to Karen Hospital from Kijabe Hospital for care under his personal doctor following an early morning road accident.

He had undergone an emergency exploratory laparotomy to stop active bleeding in his abdomen while at Kijabe

Mission Hospital.

The Jubilee Secretary-General was rushed to the facility after a road accident in Magina area along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway as he headed to Kabarak for former president Daniel Moi’s burial.

Mr Tuju, who was being driven in a Toyota Prado, was said to be experiencing chest pains, while his bodyguard fractured his arm and driver fractured his right leg.

Mr Tuju is said to be in a stable condition.

The incident happened at around 6.45 am Wednesday morning and involved three vehicles: Mr Tuju’s car, a matatu and a Toyota Allion saloon car.

The matatu is said to have collided head-on with the Prado carrying Mr Tuju.

Passengers who were in the PSV were injured and were rushed to Kijabe Hospital.

The matatu driver, according to a police report, was on life support.

The three vehicles involved in the accident were towed to the Ilari station yard for inspection.
