Baringo Senator Gideon Moi who happens to be Mzee Daniel arap Moi’s last born child lived in poverty.
In an exclusive interview with a local publication, Gideon Moi talked of intense humiliation that he went through while growing up in a rich family while he was dead poor; he only owned his Nike shoes that were given to him by Nike Cofounder Bill Bowerman when he was only 14 years old.
Gideon further recalled how he’d beg his mother to get him money for school trips adding that his parents were strict and didn’t give out money to children freely.
“Even at the University of Salford, I had very little money and had to limit my international travels since I could not afford. I watched as children of other African dictators lived in luxury while I barely survived through University,” he recalled.
On 2022 politics and ambitions, Gideon revealed that he best knows what problems Kenyans face and that he understands Kenyans’ difficult life.
Gideon hopes to clinch the top seat and start the journey of transforming the economy.
