What next for Mwendwa and FKF elections?

The Sports Dispute Tribunal on Tuesday cancelled Football Kenya Fedaration elections that had been scheduled for Saturday. The tribunal found out that FKF’s electoral board chaired by Edwin Wamkukoya was not properly constituted.
SDT Chairman John Ohaga in his 27 page ruling made last evening sated that the required public participation was not conducted before the elections. Ohaga also called off branch elections that were conducted on November 27.
“An order that Football Kenya Federation Presidential elections to be held on 7th December 2019 is hereby cancelled,” Ohaga ruled.
FKF President Nick Mwendwa, his deputy Doris Petra and members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) were directed to remain in office and facilitate fresh elections.
Mwendwa’s main rival Sam Nyamweya lauded the tribunal for the ruling as landmark and good news to all soccer stakeholders. Nyamweya also added that truth and justice have prevailed.
Mwendwa has hinted that he is going to appeal the ruling arguing that they followed the set procedure to organise those elections.
He added that the ruling favours only three hundred people against 6,000 clubs.
Mwendwa ascended to FKF presidency in 2016 after he beat Sam Nyamweya who been leading Kenyan football for long. Over the time, FKF or former Kenya Football federation (KFF) elections have been rocked by court controversies, violence and bribery.
