Earlier today, President Uhuru Kenyatta issued a presidential proclamation announcing the passing on of retired President Daniel Arap Moi
The Body of Mzee Moi has since been moved to Lee Funeral Home from Nairobi Hospital where he passed on at dawn aged 95.
But, as it has been the uncouth culture of Kenyans especially politicians, the death of Nineteen pupils in a stampede at Kakamega Primary School on Monday will be washed down our memories like nothing happened… Precious Top Talent school has been renovated and lost young souls forgotten by this money-minded vampires.
Reports indicated that the students were running out of class at 5pm when the tragedy occurred. It was said that some fell from the third floor of the building.
Western Region Police Commander Peris Kimani confirmed the report, saying 20 injured pupils were treated at the county’s general and referral hospital and discharged.
Leaders and security chiefs were among those who went to the hospital after receiving reports of the incident. They included Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, Lurambi Member of Parliament Titus Khamala and County Commissioner Pauline Dola.
Governor Oparanya’s head of communication Dickson Rayori said He will address the media today (Tuesday) morning.
Also on the social media platform, Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga sent a condolence message.
There must be an immediate and thorough probe to get to the bottom of this incident.

In September 2019, Education CS George Magoha closed Precious Talents Top School in Dagoretti and Pama Academy in Kangemi and ordered the affected pupils sent to public schools. The institutions had substandard structures.
In January, three pupils died after lightning struck them at Mkulima Primary School in Kuresoi North Sub-County. At least 53 others were admitted to various hospitals in Nakuru County.
In September 2017, nine students died while dozens others were injured after a fire burnt down a dormitory at Moi Girls’ School Nairobi.
Parents have been accusing the Ministry of Education of laxity in addressing such incidents. And just, as it unfortunately is, the parents of Kakamega Primary pupils will be left out because every State-controlled agency will be used to mourn the retired late President Moi.
This habit of mourning the old while sitting on the rushed unwanted scares in the name of drills that are killing our kids in school is unjust even to the ‘gods of politicians’. Why subject young souls to security drills in an area that has, in recent and past history, reported almost terrorist act? Isn’t that a manslaughter offence?
As we say Rest in Peace Mzee Moi, let’s also remember our kids are dying in schools that are already killing them with the most useless Moi’s 8-4-4 system that has been redressed with CBC which is still using same Retarded 8-4-4 teachers and their hogwash syllabus.
