Yester evining, Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Gatundu South, Kiambu County nabbed one suspect for the offence of making public documents without authority.
The detectives confiscated 47 fake, signed title deeds registered under different names from Ng’ang’a Kanina’s house during the arrest.
“The fake land title deeds are suspected to be used by fraudsters to obtain money by false pretences from unsuspecting members of the public. All the title deeds have been retained as exhibits pending further investigations.”
On other related topic, On the 3rd of September 2020, DCI arrested five suspects for impersonating law enforcement officers.
Sharoq Afzal Shah, Jamal Hassan Ali, Fred Ngusare, Francis Saitabau and Junaid Mehmood Osman were all nabbed in Nairobi.
The five are being held for impersonating officers from the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), National Police Service (NPS) and National Intelligence Service (NIS) as well as engaging in suspicious activities.
Two vehicles in which they were driving was intercepted at T-Mall area and, upon searching, fake NIS and KDF identification cards a well as gate passes and pocket phones were recovered.
“Members of the public who have fallen victim to the activities of such individuals are advised to visit DCI Lang’ata,” said the DCI.
