The Public Service Commission (PSC) has withdrawn Prof. George Magoha’s powers to manage the human resource functions with immediate effect.
The Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Education has lost the powers to the Principal Secretary for Early Learning and Basic Education, Belio Kipsang after a video of him insulting education officer was shared online.
PS Kipsang who stayed in the Education docket will now be in charge of all human resource matters in the ministry.
PSC said in a statement that the move was aimed at shielding public servants against undignified and unwarranted attacks like the ones made by Magoha in a nasty video doing rounds in WhatsApp groups.
“The move was in exercise of the Commission’s powers and commitment to protect public servants against undignified and unwarranted attacks. The execution of delegated authority is designed to foster public confidence and maintain the integrity and dignity of the public service,” PSC statement read in part.
A video of Education CS Prof. George Magoha insulting a senior education official went viral over the last weekend.
The high handed Magoha who was surrounded by other sycophantic officials was seen questioning the Uasin Gishu County Director of education Gitonga Mbaka over the condition of a school.
The Education CS was in Uasin Gishu County to assess the learning and delivery of desks in the local schools.
The abusive Magoha was unhappy with the response he received from the County Director of Education then hurled insults at him.
” Nikisema wewe ni mjinga ni uwongo. You are talking about a report and I’m talking about what is here on the ground. You can go, I said you get away from here, wewe ni mjinga kabisa,” Magoha said.
