President Uhuru reshuffled his Cabinet on Wednesday, appointing Eugene Wamalwa to the Defence Ministry to replace Monica Juma.
Juma was sent to the Energy Ministry to replace Charles Keter, the new Devolution Cabinet Secretary, a position formerly held by Wamalwa.
The changes were announced by State House Spokeswoman Kanze Dena.

President Uhrur has also moved from the Energy Ministry is Principal Secretary Joseph Njoroge who has been replaced by Gordon Kihalangwa. Njoroge was re-assigned duties at the Transport Ministry.
Solomon Kitungu has been appointed as the new Principal Secretary for the State Department of Public Works, while Nelson Marwa remains the PS for the State Department of Social Protection, Senior Citizens Affairs, and Special Programmes, which has been transferred to the Ministry of Public Service and Gender.
“The changes take effect immediately,” the State House statement said.
